He/His

Life is hard, and there’s no way to move through it without encountering pain. What can change is how you encounter that pain. That shift takes knowing yourself in a deeper, more honest way, which means moving beyond old narratives and patterned ways of responding and discovering what else is there. What shows up in the therapy room is usually showing up in your life, too, and that becomes the material we’ll work with: the stories about yourself you repeat in your mind, the tension you carry in your jaw, and the feelings that are heavy and painful. I draw on my trainings in Gestalt therapy and mindfulness to help you build a deeper familiarity with yourself, a more intimate and profound knowing so that you can experience more steadiness to meet life as it comes, especially when it’s difficult. I work from a knowing that systems of oppression shape our experiences and influence how we move through the world. I really enjoy working with people who feel stuck in old patterns or are going through life transitions. I offer opportunities to ‘try things out’ in the therapy room and bring my EMDR training into the work when it’s helpful.
