She/Her
Most of my clients are people who are healing from trauma, asking big questions, figuring out who they are, and learning to care for themselves and others. I work primarily with queer and trans people, people who have experienced trauma, people living with illness and disability, and people in caregiving roles (personally or professionally).
I approach therapy with the belief that our painful habits and patterns in our lives are not our fault. We found ways to adapt to the conditions around us, and much of that happens without conscious choice or awareness. In the present, we might have a feeling that there is another way to be that’s less painful, but we might not know how to get there. In my work as a therapist, I help people feel their way forward. I believe that change starts with acceptance and compassion, and that the path unfolds from there. Through the courageous and compassionate facing of the truth, our natural wisdom is able to emerge and lead the way. This perspective is deeply informed by meditation training and practice, as well as training in trauma and Gestalt therapy.
